Cathedral of Light

From May 31st to September 27th 2025, the exterior façade of Rouen Cathedral will be lit up with the Cathedral of Light show. The programme includes two monumental projections:

• Viking: This show retraces the Scandinavian invasions of Normandy in the IXᵉ century, from the first incursion in 841 to the Treaty of Saint-Clair-sur-Epte in 911. Combining historical facts and spectacular visual effects, it offers an immersion into the world of the men of the North.
• Rendezvous with Light: This visual journey explores light in all its forms, from the initial darkness to the light harnessed by man, via the luminous wonders of nature.

Times vary according to date:

• From May 31st to June 28th: Fridays and Saturdays at 11pm.
• From July 1st to 31st: every evening at 11pm.
• From August 1st to 15th: every evening at 10.30pm.
• From August 16th to 31st: every evening at 10pm.
• From September 1st to 27th: Fridays and Saturdays at 9.30pm.

These free shows attract large numbers of spectators every year, amazed by the artistic illumination of this iconic monument.
