The Freedom Marathon, also known as the Normandy Running Festival, is a major sporting and historical event that pays tribute to the events of the 1944 D-Day. The 38th edition will take place from the 12th to the 15th of June 2025, coinciding with the Millennium festivities of the city of Caen.
Program:
- Freedom Marathon: 42,195 km route through emblematic sites linked to the D-Day.
- Pegasus Half-Marathon: Distance of 21.0975 km, paying tribute to the famous Pegasus Bridge.
- Crédit Agricole Normandie 10km: Race accessible to a wide public.
- La Rochambelle: Women’s walk/run in solidarity for the fight against cancer.
- Freedom Strides: Events for children and families.
The different events offer routes through historic and symbolic places of Normandy, allowing participants to run on the traces of heroes of the past. The event is recognised for its quality of organisation and the welcome reserved to runners.
