Médiévales de Montfort-sur-Risle

Les Médiévales de Montfort-sur-Risle is an annual event celebrating the region’s medieval history. For 2025, the festival is scheduled for September 7th at the medieval castle of Montfort-sur-Risle.
On this day, visitors will be able to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the Middle Ages through a variety of activities:
- Historical re-enactments: presentation of daily medieval life, period trades and craft demonstrations.
- Knightly combat: jousting and armoured combat demonstrations.
- Shows: medieval music, fire-eaters and puppets to entertain young and old.
- Medieval market: artisans selling products inspired by the medieval era.
Children will have the chance to take part in activities such as an introduction to archery or fencing, as well as the ‘children’s crusade’.
One of the highlights of the day will be the re-enactment of the liberation of Montfort Castle by the troops of John Lackland, using siege equipment such as the trebuchet and the ballista.
