The Maritime Weekend of Caen 2025 will be held from the 27th to the 29th of June, marking the beginning of the summer season of the city’s Millennium celebrations. This event will highlight the region’s maritime heritage, offering visitors an immersion in the history and nautical culture of Caen.

Program:

  • Fleet of 48 sailing ships: Representing each of the 48 municipalities of the Caen Urban Community at sea, these ships, including the majestic Belem, will be moored in the port of Caen and along the quays of the Presqu’île, open to visitors.
  • Water activities: Demonstrations and races on the water will offer captivating shows for all ages.
  • Monumental ephemeral works: Temporary artistic installations will embellish the Presqu’île, creating a unique visual journey.
  • Grand maritime parade: Closing the weekend, a procession of ships will sail along the canal from Caen to the sea, to the beaches of the Côte de Nacre, offering an unforgettable marine spectacle.

In addition, the art-science project “Débord(i)ons” will be at the heart of these festivities, offering interactive experiences to explore the relationship between residents and water, a central element of the Caen Peninsula. This festive and educational weekend is an exceptional opportunity to celebrate the millennium of Caen by highlighting its maritime heritage and its unfailing link with the sea.
