Pont-Audemer is a charming town located in the Eure in Normandy, nicknamed the Norman Venice. Just 30 minutes from Castel Camping Le Brévedent, Pont-Audemer has a rich history that dates back to medieval times and owes its name to the stone bridge dating from the 12th century that spans the river Risle, now symbol of the city.
Its picturesque streets and half-timbered houses from the 16th and 17th centuries make it a very pleasant place to explore. More modern buildings such as the theatre “L’Eclat” or the new cinema “Le Ciné” will delight lovers of architecture and design.
History lovers will be delighted by the many monuments and museums to discover. The 11th century Saint-Ouen church is a remarkable example of Norman Gothic architecture. Nearby, art lovers will not fail to visit the Alfred Canel Museum which houses collections of art and local history.
